JD Wetherspoons spent €6 million on the purchase of the property. This was the single largest investment the company every made in its 41-year history.
Keavan’s Port has 9,000 square feet of customer space spread over two floors. The hotel also has a 3,800 square foot garden across two enclosed courtyards.
The company expect to employ around two hundred full- and part-time staff at the bar and hotel, when it officially opens. They originally aimed to open in January 2021, before further pandemic restrictions were announced.
